Thanks for sharing this story. I was stationed in Okinawa in 1993-94 at Futenma Marine Corps Air Station. I was looking for information on moving to Okinawa and life in general these days and came across your blog. Thanks for all of your great stories of everyday life there. It brings back alot of memories. This one especially. Friend of mine and I had broke into a "castle" that had a resort in it that was abandoned. I cant remember the name of it.

But it was very interesting. The story was that Hotel investors decided to build the hotel in the castle grounds against local opposition. They ended up building on top of Samurai burial grounds and that when everything happened. Long story short, the hotel never finished. There were still brand new mattresses left still wrapped in plastic. Toilet bowls that seemed to have caught on fire, and a huge Rock with coral all over it that crashed through the main lobby from the top as if dropped straight out of the hand of God. It was quite a sight. Anyways, thanks again.

Thanks Don. Okinawa is a very special place. I have rarely come across a place that is so charged with otherworldly energy (for want of a better phrase). Locals often know what is what and there have been some enormous gaffs. Those who have even the remotest sensitivity to the more spiritual side of things (me included) are almost overwhelmed in certain parts of the island. Regards David

nice. you'll never know what will come out at nite.

hi, im from malaysia and stories of ghost, just never end here. if u were to walk at nite in a lonely town, you'll be surprise of what 'things' can be seen, especially after 12am. very spooky man.
i ever experienced once, face to face! it was 3years ago. i and my friend were driving at nite, it was about 1.30am. we were driving very slow at about 20 to 30km/h. as we were cruising this long and lonely road, we noticed 2girls walking and there was also another 1 walking behind about 20metres apart. the 2girls walking in front looked very normal but the one walking behind was a bit strange. when we passed by the girls, i and my friend we so shocked to see the girl who walks behind the other 2, had no face!! yup, she had no face man. it was like everything is flat on her face. no nose no eyes no mouth. we were driving very slow and there's no way that we could be wrong. it was the most spooky experience i've ever had.
to be honest we do not know what happened to the other 2girls. my friend just sped off when he saw the 'thing', hehe.

There's also another story of a man-eating creature that happened way back in the 90's. It happened to a couple driving along this very popular highway in Kuala Lumpur. It was at nite, they had their car broke down in the middle of a tunnel somewhere along the highway. From what i've heard, the husband told the wife to stay put in the car while he goes out looking for help near by. About 45minutes later, she heard people talking thru a megaphone from outside the tunnel, which is not far from the entry of the tunnel. The police asked her to go out from the car slowly and not to turn back no matter what. It was human curiousity that made her looked back after about 20 feet or so. And what she saw was out of this world unreal, she saw a beast with wings and a very huge one, sitting on the top of the car, EATING her husband!! i dont know what happened next but this story is real. no bull with shit here. But it never made public. There was a cover up because 'they' dont want people to be scared or some bullshit.
haha..spooky huh?
i got alot more stories(real ones of course) that happened here in malaysia. but i got to go now. i havent got my blog page up properly yet, when is ready, i'll post some more in my blog.

p/s: malaysia is not a country full of ghosts. just some random incidence of here and there. do come and visit malaysia :-)

cheers,
